gods of the "banganga"....

the "banganga" is an ancient tank in the south mumbai area..and as the legend goes...Lord Ram stopped here and overcome with thirst, he shot an arrow into the ground from which flowed out ..water from the ganges....

This sacred "banganga" is surrounded by small temples, and their ancient gods..going back 400 years...sitting in tiny street corners, easily co-existing with daily life and the high-rise buildings of modern age mumbai...
