IR Rockies

I've found the official cheat code for family vacation landscape photography. It's Ilford SFX 200 paired with a Hoya R72 infrared filter. Often, I find that I'm out in mid day on vacation and the light is never great, but that is when IR (infrared) photography hits the strongest! Ilford SFX 200 is a black and white film that is sensitive into the infrared spectrum. When used with a red filter or a light IR filter like I used, you can get some really wonderful effects. Without the filter, it's a wonderful black and white film as well. I'm super happy with how well these photos met my expectations. They have a nice drama to them, making me draw connections to fantasy worlds.
