Agfa Optima 1035
I’ve been looking for a nice compact analog point and shoot camera for a while and I recently stumbled upon a beaten up Agfa Optima 1035 from a local eBay seller who was giving it away for next to nothing. Externally it looked really messed up and I expected it to be broken, but when I got it I was surprised to find that it actually seemed to be working! I was instantly in love with the big viewfinder - it’s super bright and framing with it is quite a joy. I shot a roll of film and was quite happy with the camera, but when I tried loading the second roll after that, the film advance gears didn’t seem to be working anymore. They rotate, but they don’t move as soon as there’s the slightest bit of resistance. The roll I had shot with it looks good though, except some of the images don’t have a proper gap in between, i. e. they overlap slightly. There’s definitely something wrong with the transport mechanism in this one. Anyways, for that one roll it was a great camera!
